Eurasia: Prospects for Wider Cooperation

The general theme of the ICCEES VIII 2010 World Congress – “Eurasia: Prospects for Wider Cooperation” gives the chance to sum up the results of more than twenty years of efforts to integrate the countries of the former Soviet bloc and former Soviet Union along the vision of “Europe - Our Common Home”. What happened to the common political and economic visions for a Europe that integrates the Eastern part of the continent? To what extent did a concept of ‘Europe’ materialize as wide as the membership of the OSCE? To what extent did new dividing lines arise? What happened to individual states as integration moved eastwards? What new patterns of international cooperation arose? The International Programme Committee (IPC) offers all interested persons the opportunity to study the state of the continent concerning all aspects of integration processes on the Eurasian continent. more
